The Premiere wine tasting event of the year, for the third year running.
Premiere Bakersfield is the Central Valley’s supreme wine tasting event of the year. Each year, we invite wineries that are considered the finest in the country to showcase some of the world’s best wine. While many wine events leave you with regular serving staff to pour the wines, Premiere Bakersfield sets itself apart by only having winery owners and winemakers on hand to answer questions.
Premiere Bakersfield is a collaborative effort between The Bakersfield North Rotary Foundation, Benefit Bakersfield Foundation, Imbibe Wine & Spirits and The Padre Hotel. While this event is always an afternoon of great wine and great people; it does have a higher purpose. Proceeds from this event will be utilized to support children’s and family charities in Kern County that support the visions of the Bakersfield North Rotary Foundation and the Benefit Bakersfield Foundation. This includes supporting strategic and life transforming services for at-risk youth, scholarships promoting educational attainment, and youth activities that encourage citizenship and healthy life habits, as well as basic necessities such as food and shelter.
We invite you to join us in creating lasting memories.
This event puts proprietors and winemakers in front of educated consumers from Bakersfield and the entire central valley of California. This concept, originating from the Cabernet Classic event David created in Glendale, CA as the owner of Red Carpet Wine, has grown beyond Cabernet to include your favorite red and white wines. The attendance at the event (the Grand Tasting is limited to 250 guests) ensures that you and the winemakers and owners can interact in a comfortable, intimate setting. Only 24 wineries will be present at Premiere Bakersfield, each showcasing two or more wines, and we would be honored if you would accept our invitation to participate.
Because this event is hosted by the Benefit Bakersfield Foundation, you’ll be helping families and youth in Bakersfield and Kern County, as all proceeds will benefit local foundations. The first of you to commit will secure your exposure to the rapidly growing market of central California.
Time continues to fly, and Imbibe Wine is now more than 5 ½ years old! The support from our patrons continues to amaze us, and we are excited to be growing our staff to handle the increasing business. Introducing our customers to the finest wines being produced in the nation in a beautiful setting with great attention to detail is truly the highlight of every year for everyone involved in this event. We sincerely hope that you’ll be with us this year on November 8th to enjoy the camaraderie.
The collective goal of the Bakersfield North Rotary Foundation, the Benefit Bakersfield Foundation, Imbibe Wine and the Padre Hotel is to give back to our community by raising monies for disadvantaged youth and families through this annual event as well as to showcase fine wines of California and Oregon. We hope you'll help us make it happen. We sincerely thank you for your consideration.

The Bakersfield North Rotary Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation that was started back in 1991. It is the charitable arm of the Bakersfield North Rotary Club. Each year it awards up to sixteen $1,000 scholarships to students of North and Frontier High Schools and provides Thanksgiving baskets to over 350 needy families in the North Bakersfield area. It is the primary supporter of Youth Connection and its “Dinner at the Derby” fundraiser this year raised over $54,000 for that organization. During the last fiscal year ending June 30, 2012, it made gifts exceeding $25,000 to other charities, more than 80% of those gifts involved schools and charities whose mission is to provide services and opportunities to children, such as the Boys and Girls Club and the Bakersfield Police Activities League.
